Sifreca

SIFRECA - Information System for Freights, involves a research team that develops studies about transportation of cargoes related mainly to agricultural products. These studies have focused on both raw material and manufactured products, throughout the whole agro-industrial system. The information about freight values are collected, processed and published monthly. The SIFRECA bulletin is sent to several Brazilian companies and can be also accessed via Internet.

Nowadays, SIFRECA collects freigths values of more than 50 different products (sugar, manure and fertilizer, cotton, coffee, limestone, rice, beans, soybean meal, orange, milk, wood, maize, soybean, soybean oil, soybean meal, orange juice, wheat etc.). These products are monitored in more than 5.500 national routes - highway routes, railway routes, waterway routes, air routes and ocean routes.

Very important information can be generated from this data processing, including the analysis of the behavior of some more specific type of time series data, which can help in the negotiation of contracts or even in the spot market.
